Chris Pratt Responds to Criticism of Church

Actor and superstar Chris Pratt is having to defend his church after being called out by SJW actress Ellen Page for the church’s views on LGBT individuals.

According to Page Six:

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor, 39, took to his Instagram Story to post a lengthy statement about megachurch Hillsong, which includes celebrity attendees such as Justin and Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez and more.

“It has recently been suggested that i belong to a church which ‘hates a certain group of people’ and is ‘infamously anti-LGBTQ.’ Nothing could be further from the truth,” Pratt wrote. “I go to a church that opens their doors to absolutely everyone.”

Pratt referenced his divorce from Anna Faris as an example of just how accepting his church is.

“Despite what the Bible says about divorce my church community was there for me every step of the way, never judging, just gracefully accompanying me on my walk,” he continued. “They helped me tremendously offering love and support. It is what I have seen them do for others on countless occasions regardless of sexual orientation, race or gender.”

Pratt also responded by stating that the church’s values and his values may not line up in every instance.
